Ever since I was in high school, painting has been my safe place — a way to make sense of the world, to turn pain into beauty, and to hold onto hope. Back then, I felt like the forgotten kid — the overweight loner, the one whose name people didn’t remember. But when I picked up a paintbrush, something inside me came alive. I found joy in creating beauty where there was none, and I discovered that painting could transform not only my day, but my spirit.
My Grandpa George, who gave me the nickname Nickel, was one of the greatest inspirations in my life. He was full of joy, the kind of man who would pick us up from school just to take us for a frosty at Wendy’s, who loved to dance polka and play games. Losing him during my senior year of high school was one of the hardest moments of my life, but his memory continues to inspire my work.
Throughout my life, my faith in Jesus has been my anchor. I’ve experienced supernatural moments where I know without a doubt that God’s hand was protecting me — from surviving illness as a toddler to walking away from a car accident that should have taken my life. Those moments have given me an unshakable sense that my art is a gift from God, meant to be shared.
Ocean Escape was born out of that gift. The ocean, for me, mirrors the journey of life — seasons of calm and seasons of storm, yet always carrying us forward. When I paint an oceanscape, I think of how life’s tides shape us, but also how beauty remains constant if we choose to see it.
My hope is that when you bring one of these paintings into your home, it becomes more than a piece of art. I want it to be a source of comfort when you’re weary, a reminder of joy when life feels heavy, and a glimpse of heaven’s beauty here on earth. I want you to feel uplifted, to remember your own cherished memories, and to find peace in the ebb and flow of your journey.

Shipping to the continental U.S. is done through UPS and is included as part of my service to you. Each artwork is carefully packaged with acid free paper or foam to protect it and ensure it arrives safely. Insurance for the full purchase price of the artwork is included; however, for extra peace of mind, I recommend adding a small additional fee for extended shipping insurance. We’ll discuss your preferred shipping option together to make sure your artwork arrives exactly as you want it.

Every effort is made to help you make the right selection before completing your purchase. However, art is a deeply personal experience—if the piece you receive isn’t what you expected, please know that payments are non-refundable. That said, I’m always happy to find an amicable resolution.
